Grudge Release
I used to LOVE a good grudge, I would even boast about how I had grudges so old I had forgotten how they started. But in the last year or so, I've gone into recovery.
These are the reasons why it might be worth joining me in grudge rehab:
👉🏻It takes energy to keep it up and as a mum of two toddler, energy is in short supply so I'm buggered if I'm wasting it on holding grudges.
👉🏻It keeps you saddled the past. Any guru worth their inexplicably long unkempt beard will tell you that happiness lies in the moment not clinging to the past like the Titanic on its way down.
👉🏻It affects the view other people have of you. The more grudges you collect, the less weight your complaints about other people have. You get a sort of reputation as petty or immature. Even your friends will start to use a hard eye roll when a new grudge surfaces.
👉🏻It only affects you. Most of the time the grudgee is carrying on their life as normal, meanwhile you are avoiding events in case you have to share oxygen with them.
👉🏻It stops you getting to know yourself on a deeper level. A lot of the time when someone else's behaviour annoys the shit out of you, it hints at deeper issues you have with yourself/mindset. It can be really interesting (albeit a leaving you a tad vulnerable) if you are willing to explore that....of course it's much easier to just grab a grudge and keep the blinkers on.
Anyway, worth a thought on a freezing cold Tuesday....
